Malformed designs standing lamps that misbehave in one specific way each — cracked, peeling, upside-down, boned, or mid-drip — and then builds the rest of the piece to hold that idea properly. Five in the collection so far, all currently at the concept-plate stage.

Five ideas, five lamps

Each one breaks a lampshade in exactly one way, then commits to it — same warm 2100–2700K glow throughout, different way of letting it out.

Two halves of one dome, cracked and offset — light leaks sideways through the fracture.

A solid shade caught mid-shed — light comes through in patches, not a ring.

A tiered chandelier flipped and tilted, widening toward the floor instead of the ceiling.

Why

A lampshade is allowed to misbehave

"Most lighting is designed to disappear into a room. Malformed is designed to be the reason someone looks up."

Every piece starts as a single, specific way for a shade to go wrong — a crack, a shed layer, an inversion — and gets built out from there with real materials and a real light source, not just a striking silhouette. Nothing ships until the idea survives being handled, wired, and stood on its own base in a real room.
